CeBIT is the world's largest and most influential trade fair for digital IT and telecommunications solutions for home and work environments. The key target groups are users from industry, the wholesale/retail sector, skilled trades, banks, the services sector, government agencies, science and all users passionate about technology.
CeBIT 2007 hosted 480,000 attendees – 10 percent more than in 2006 – and deals worth 11 billion euros were announced. Attendees from abroad totaled 106,000 from 100 countries, with particularly strong visitor turnout from Asia and North America.
Exhibiting companies numbered 6,153 from 79 countries, 3,344 of which came from broad – a record for international participation at CeBIT. Among participating European nations, the UK fielded the biggest exhibitor contingent, followed by Italy and the Netherlands. Among Asia Pacific nations, Taiwan once again came out on top, followed by the People's Republic of China, South Korea and Japan.
CeBIT offers an international platform for comparing notes on current industry trends, networking, and product presentations.
