CeBIT: a Brief History Lesson
CeBIT was launched as a separate trade fair in 1986, but its origins lie in the 1950s when it was the office equipment section of HANNOVER MESSE. Hall 1 – in 1984 named the world's largest single-storey exhibition hall by the Guinness Book of Records – was opened in 1970 to accommodate CeBIT's rapid growth within HANNOVER MESSE.
