contractworld.award 2008 Winners Announced
For the eighth successive year the competition organizers have announced the winners of the contractworld.award, Europe's most important architecture prize for interior design. Worth a total of 50,000 euros in prize money, this prestigious award is the most lucrative of its kind in Europe. The jury announced the winners following an exhaustive two-day selection process at the Hannover Fairgrounds. A total of 366 projects were submitted, including 174 from 26 countries outside of Germany such as Austria, Belgium, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.S.

Floorforum will Highlight Contemporary Floor Covering Trends
Floorforum, a special display that spotlights the latest trends in contemporary floor covering design, will again be organized by internationally renowned designer Ulf Moritz of Amsterdam. Floorforum will be located in Hall 3 and feature four different room settings based on the themes "Natural Beauty", "Exclusive Extravagance", "Functional Coolness" and "Classic Comfort".

Forum Handwerk: Education and Networking for Skilled Tradespeople

DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR Now 85 Percent Sold Out
Space registrations for DOMOTEXasia/CHINAFLOOR, which will run 11–13 March 2008 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, are continuing in a very positive manner. By the middle of September more than 500 companies had contracted for 387,000 square feet of display area, which amounts to roughly 85 percent of available space. China's leading solid wood flooring manufacturer, Nature, and leading laminate producer, Power Dekor, both confirmed their participation recently and booked 5,640 square feet and 5,110 square feet, respectively.
