HANNOVER MESSE 2007 in Review: Attendance Up More Than Ten Percent
Total attendance figures of more than 230,000 – an increase of more than 10 percent on the last directly comparable year, 2005 – was an outstanding result for HANNOVER MESSE. Attendance from Germany was up 12 percent, with the volume of visitors from outside Germany up eight percent. Visitors from abroad represented around 30 percent of total attendance, with the biggest increases in foreign participation coming from the Americas and eastern Europe.

RoboCup German Open Highlighted Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Robotics
HANNOVER MESSE 2007 played host to the 6th RoboCup German Open, where more than 150 teams comprised of 800 participants from 13 countries competed on 57,000 square feet of playing field. Staged in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems, the tournament hosted 46 teams in the RoboCup Senior Leagues. One-hundred RoboCupJunior teams from Germany and guest teams from Austria, Iran and Italy played an exiting tournament in the disciplines RoboSoccer, RoboDance and RoboRescue.

Bayer Technology Services Wins 2007 HERMES AWARD
Bayer Technology Services GmbH and Ingenia Technology Ltd received the HERMES AWARD at the HANNOVER MESSE 2007 opening ceremony for their innovative product "ProteXXion", a unique laser technology that makes it possible to detect and avoid product forgeries. The annual HERMES AWARD technology prize is awarded by HANNOVER MESSE organizer Deutsche Messe AG and is worth 100,000 euros.
