Energy and Industrial Automation in Growth Market China
It makes no difference if you are in Hannover or Shanghai – energy and industrial automation top the agenda for industry all over the world. This year, Deutsche Messe AG will stage Energy Show and Industrial Automation Show in Shanghai from 6 to 10 November. The shows will run concurrently with the China International Industry Fair and Metal Working and CNC Machine Tool; combined, the four events will occupy the entire Shanghai New International Expo Centre and cover more than one million square meters of display area.

MicroTechnology Now in More Central Location
MicroTechnology will move to Hall 6 in 2008, where it will be adjacent to the thematically related special displays "Hygienic Design", "RFID" and "Mechatronics". Next year's show will present the complete spectrum of applications-oriented microsystems technology, nanotechnology and laser technology. In 2007, 47,500 attendees indicated MicroTechnology was a main point of interest – and many of them came from the industry's two most important sales markets, Asia and Europe.

Pipeline Technology to Expand Scope in 2008
Visitors to Pipeline Technology in 2007 increased 50 percent to 40,500 – 14,000 of whom came from outside of Germany. In addition, 85 exhibiting companies (2006: 55) presented solutions for oil, gas and water pipelines as part of a showcase that spanned the entire value chain – from construction to operation to replacement – on 39,826 square feet (2006: 15,069) of display space. Pipeline Technology will in 2008 expand its focus on regional pipeline distribution and LNG (liquefied natural gas) as well as introduce exploration as a keynote theme.

Hannover to Host Wind Power Every Other Year
An agreement has been reached which has major ramifications for Northern Germany’s trade fair landscape: the HUSUMwind tradeshow is to alternate with the new HANNOVER MESSE wind energy showcase. The next big Hannover showcase for the wind energy sector will thus be in 2009. The industry-wide agreement was reached between the Hannover, Husum and Hamburg trade fair operating companies with the support of the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) and the VDMA. The agreement brings a long running discussion to a positive conclusion.

O&S – the New Trade Fair for Surface Treatment Technology
