India will be "Partner Country" at the Berlin International Air Show. Our colleagues from India will not only bring a large delegation of public, private and military representatives but will exhibit on 1,500 square meters. In addition, they will conduct a conference that deals with how to do business with India – a subject of great interest to western suppliers and OEMs. The Partner Country invitation was accepted by the Indian Defense Minister with the expectation that India would present the country's overall aerospace and defense institutions. The Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries (SIATI) has been invited to bring its member companies to the event.

A new aerospace market forecast confirms what most in the industry have known about the global market. The US continues to lead the world in aerospace manufacturing. The Asia-Pacific region will dominate the growth charts especially in China and India where air traffic will continue to grow at a rapid pace. Emerging economies such as China and India will lead the way in low-cost products and services. This means that in the short term, suppliers who want to tap into these markets should be selling to the large OEMs and first tier suppliers in Europe and North America. A good place to do this is in the International Suppliers Center (ISC) at the Berlin International Air Show. The ISC will be the place where OEMs, 1st tier suppliers and suppliers up to the 2nd tier will meet May 27–29, 2008.
