The central topic of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) Congress from 17 to 18 May 2007 at LIGNA+ HANNOVER is how to convert forestry waste from tropical rain forests into fuel. Travel2Fairs, a subsidiary of LIGNA+ co-organizer Deutsche Messe AG, offers a wide range of travel and lodging solutions to all U.S exhibitors, attendees and journalists. Services include hotel, private room and apartment reservations; flight and rail packages; rental cars; and airport shuttle and porter service.
LIGNA+ entrance tickets go on sale beginning in March and can be purchased in advance from Hannover Fairs USA. Tickets can also be purchased at the entrance gates to the Hannover Fairgrounds and at select Üstra (U-Bahn) and Deutsche Bahn service centers. "Carpenters & Cabinetmakers Have More to Offer" is the theme for this year's showcase, in which the German Association of Carpentry and Joinery (BHKH) will be unveiling initiatives for barrier-free living and presenting concepts for training and further education.
One highlight at the pavilion is the exhibition of award-winning creations from Germany's "Form & Function" competition. Moreover, at the end of each day there will be a happy hour for visitors and experts to come together and exchange opinions.

Don't miss out on this special event – to be held from 15 to 17 May 2007 at LIGNA+ HANNOVER – at which lumberjacks will demonstrate their skills with axes and saws. You can watch the athletes as they practice in the training camp before they take part in the official competition on 17 May. Learn more about how wood is harvested professionally and efficiently at LIGNA+ HANNOVER 2007. The German Forestry Council (KWF) will be teaming up with the German Association of Forestry Contractors (AFL), Lower Saxony and the Lower Saxony School of Forestry (NLF) to run a number of joint presentations in Pavilion 33 themed "Quality in Forestry Companies – Requirements and Trends" and "Forestry Safety in Lower Saxony."

The "German Timber Construction Award 2007" will be awarded in the categorien timber-construction architecture and innovative building products. The award ceremony will be held on 15 May at the Association of Carpenters in Lower Saxony (VNZ) pavilion in Hall 17 at LIGNA+ HANNOVER 2007.
